The Ohio State Women’s Golf team won their second consecutive event on Sunday at the Ohio State University Golf Course. This is the fourth consecutive season the Buckeyes have won the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational at the Scarlet Course. Ohio State shot a seven-under 281 on Sunday, finishing with a 54-hole total of 866 (+2).

Last week, Ohio State got the win at the Clemson Invitational, breaking several program and tournament scoring records along the way.

A big part of the Buckeyes success continues to come from New Albany’s Kary Hollenbaugh. The senior, who led New Albany to four state championships, claimed the individual title with a three-day total of 208 (-8). This is her fourth victory of the spring season, which is tied for most wins in a single season in program history.

Hollenbaugh, who has risen to No. 23 in the World Women’s Amateur Golf Ranking, recently made the cut at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. She finished in a tie for 22nd place, while getting to compete at Augusta National Golf Club during the final round, where shot a 4-over 76.

Through nine events in her junior season, Hollenbaugh is now averaging 70.8. The Ohio State Women’s Golf season scoring average record belongs to Jaclyn Lee at 71.14 in the 2017-2018 season.

The Big Ten Championships are next up for the Buckeyes April 18-20 in Havre de Grace, Md. at Bulle Rock Golf Course.
